Harlequins winger Sebastian Stegmann will has joined London Welsh with immediate effect after being released early from his contract.
The 23-year-old previously signed a two-year deal with the Premiership newcomers that was due to commence at the start of the 2013-14 season.
But Welsh director of rugby Lyn Jones approached Quins recently requesting his early release.
And with stiff competition among the Quins back three, boss Conor O’Shea allowed the youngster to move immediately.
Stegmann was born in Hounslow and graduated from the Harlequins academy, going on to make 35 appearances from the wing and scoring 11 tries.
He has also been capped for England at Under-16, Under-18 and Under-20s levels.
