New Zealander Botica heading to Quins
Highly-rated New Zealand back Ben Botica has signed a two-year contract with Harlequins and will join the club from North Harbour for the start of next season.
Botica, the son of former All Blacks and Wigan Warriors rugby league great Frano Botica, qualifies as a local player as he has a United Kingdom passport.
“We rate Ben very highly and are confident that he will have an instant impact at the club,” said Quins director of rugby Conor O’Shea.
“His versatility is attractive and the fact that he is a reliable goal kicker is a bonus. We’re looking forward to him joining us next season.”
Botica said: “I am excited about linking up with Harlequins in July. Playing in the Premiership and Heineken Cup will be a new challenge and I expect that I will have some adjustments to make to my playing style.
“I’ve watched Harlequins play over recent seasons and it is a team and style of rugby that I’m looking forward to being part of.”

harlequins have struck gold here. Bens Father was an hero of mine at Wigan. A superb player, I never saw him have a poor game. Good luck Ben, I will be watching your progress.
