Esher capture Quins prospects

Esher have landed highly-rated youngsters Charlie Matthews, Rob Buchanan, Will Collier and Charlie Walker after agreeing a deal with Harlequins.

All four have signed dual-registration contracts with the Championship club, who open their season against Plymouth on 3 September.

Hooker Buchanan, lock Matthews and prop Collier were part of the England squad that reached the Under-20 World Cup final in June.

Winger Walker, who also plays at 13 and full-back, has scored three tries in his first six games for England’s Under-18s.

“We are very pleased with all four, who have already excelled at very high levels for such young players,” said Esher director of rugby Mike
Schmid.

“They are all superb lads and we are looking forward to the energy they will bring to the side and the competition they will add to the squad.”
