Harlequins hooker Chris Brooker has left the club to join Worcester Warriors.
The 26-year-old made 84 appearances for Quins but has not played since March 2012 due to a knee injury sustained shortly before he was due to join up with the England Six Nations squad.
However, he is now close to full fitness and was allowed to speak to Worcester when they approached him last week.
Harlequins director of rugby Conor O’Shea said: “Chris has shown incredible determination to get back from the injury he suffered last year and is now at a stage where he will be back playing again next season.
“Given our resources at hooker – with the development of Rob Buchanan alongside Joe Gray and Dave Ward – the chance of a two-year deal for Chris at Worcester was something we owed him and gave him permission to explore.
“Those discussions have concluded satisfactorily and he leaves officially next week. He will be missed on and off the pitch by everyone at Harlequins.”
Brooker first joined Quins from Bath in 2007 and scored five tries. He has played for both England Saxons and the under-21 side that won the Grand Slam in 2006.
