West Ham look to tie up deal for QPR keeper Green
West Ham are looking to complete the re-signing of QPR goalkeeper Rob Green in time for him to play for them this weekend.
The Hammers, who are without suspended keeper Adrian, would need to register Green, 35, by Friday afternoon in order for him to be available to face Bournemouth the following day.
Rangers recently received an enquiry from West Ham about his availability and Green is keen to return to the club he spent six years with before he moved to Loftus Road in 2012.
The east London side’s current back-up keeper, Darren Randolph, 28, is one of a number of potential signings QPR have been looking into as they prepare for Green’s possible exit.
They completed the signing of Alex Smithies from Huddersfield Town on Thursday, having failed to agree a fee for Southend United’s highly-rated keeper Dan Bentley.
Both men were initially targeted to compete with Green rather than replace him, but West Ham stepped up their interest when Adrian was banned after being sent off against Leicester on Saturday.
