Warburton unfazed by reports Sherwood could take QPR job
Mark Warburton has shrugged off reports he could be replaced as QPR manager by Tim Sherwood.
Sherwood, who has previously been considered for the job, worked with Les Ferdinand at Tottenham.
And there have been reports that Rangers director of football Ferdinand is ready to install Sherwood at Loftus Road.
“There are always rumours in football. You have to be thick-skinned to be a manager,” Warburton said.
“My job has apparently been taken nine times in the last few days.
“All you do is come to work every day and do the best job you can. As long as you do that you can go home at night and sleep comfortably.”
Rangers are without a win in eight matches and have slumped to 20th in the Championship table, just two points above the relegation zone.
Warburton’s future has been discussed by the club’s hierarchy, who have been concerned by recent results but are giving him time to turn things around and are looking to bring in players this month.
“Of course you have the conversation,” Warburton said.
“We speak about the January transfer window, the plans – we had a Zoom call yesterday. We crack on as a normal.
“It goes from a feast to famine very quickly. You look at some of the names who three or four weeks ago were being touted as champions and now their jobs are being threatened. That’s football.
“You have to have thick skin, get on with it, and as long as you can home at night the best you can be then you’re in a decent place.”

I wouldn’t exactly call a leisurely jog back to defend, giving opponents acres of space, allowing them free shots on our goal or passing when a shot on goal is on – as “fighting every game”. Yes, the desire to constantly pass to the opponent seems to have been cured, but we should definitely not be at the bottom end of the table if we performed anywhere near our potential, the fault for this must rest with the manager

so we constantly sell our best players and expect to replace them with a forward from Charlton and a forward from the highlands league!..I know one thing, I would rather watch Warburtons qpr more than a lot of the recent shambles we have employed !.
At least he tries to get the team playing decent football and gives the players a platform to express themselves on. ok the dykes and MacCauley transfers have not gone too well yet but i see the makings of a good spine of a team. i think we need three players for the spine of the team and get mido back from oxford.
My only hope is that we don’t have to play Wallace too often because he terrifies me!
What i do know is that the team are fighting every game and as we all know too well, the fine margins between a win and a loss can boil down to one moment’s lapse over 95 minutes.
I personally think we lost touch of ourselves in the madness of poor management at various levels over many years and now we are trying to rebuild not just a team, but a club ethos and identity again !….rather Warburton than pearson any day.
Lets not forget how good eze is and how much any team would miss him. His sale has changed the dynamics of the complete team but money talks!
Keep the faith.

if only the board had the same attitude as Warburton, they would come to work and Sack him and install a decent manager to get us out of the relegation threat.
