QPR boss shrugs off reports of Manning interest
QPR boss Mark Warburton is unfazed by reports linking Premier League clubs with Ryan Manning.
The Irishman has been outstanding at left-back so far this season, prompting reports that Newcastle, Southampton and West Ham are showing an interest in him.
It has been claimed that clubs have been alerted to his possible availability because his contract is due to expire at the end of the season.
Rangers are negotiating a new contract for Manning and in any case hold an option to extend his current deal by 12 months, meaning he is effectively under contract until 2021. The same applies to Bright Osayi-Samuel.
“Ryan’s been playing well and it’s part and parcel of the game that there’ll be speculation about a player who’s performing well,” Warburton said.
“It doesn’t bother me and I know Ryan is happy here and knows he has to stay fully focused.
“In many ways the more speculation there is about players the better. It means they’re doing well.”
