QPR confirm keeper Walsh’s new contract

QPR have announced Joe Walsh’s new contract.

The goalkeeper’s previous contract was due to expire this summer and he was offered a new deal after the end of the season.

Walsh, 22, made his Championship debut in Rangers’ win at Coventry on the final day of the campaign. He was signed from Gillingham in January 2021.

The club remain in talks with Chris Willock and keeper Asmir Begovic, whose deals also expire this summer.

Elijah Dixon-Bonner has been offered a new contract, although a number of other clubs have shown an interest in the midfielder.

“I am really looking forward to the future,” Walsh told Rangers’ website.

“Over the last three and a half years I have worked hard and I have improved as a goalkeeper.

“Now I just want to keep improving and keep showing people at the club what I can do.”
