Roberts ‘could be involved’ for QPR against Coventry
Tyler Roberts could return to action on Saturday for QPR, who expect Jake Clarke-Salter to play again before the end of the season.
On-loan Leeds forward Roberts has been unavailable for much of the season and recently returned to the Yorkshire club.
But he has since resumed training with Rangers and might be in the squad for this weekend’s vital home match against Coventry.
Boss Gareth Ainsworth said: “He could be involved. He’s looking sharp in training now, which is great.
“He’s been out a long time and we’ve got to be careful because we don’t want any recurrences with Tyler.
“There are four games after this and if we can utilise him for those games that’d be brilliant, but he might be in the squad for this game.”
Roberts has started just 14 Championship matches this season and has not played since going off during QPR’s 3-0 defeat at Hull in January.
Defender Clarke-Salter has started just 12 games since being signed last summer after being released by Chelsea. He has not featured for more than two months.
But Clarke-Salter is now training with the rest of the squad and is believed to be close to being available for selection.
Ainsworth explained: “He’s out on the (training) pitch now and once that happens it’s about getting in the squad and team – or the B team maybe for a game.
“I don’t think you’ve seen the last of Jake Clarke-Salter this season. I think he’ll be back by the end of the season and get some game time, which is great.”
