‘Tired’ QPR star Vargas feeling the strain
QPR boss Harry Redknapp believes an eventful spell on and off the pitch has taken its toll on Eduardo Vargas.
The Chilean forward recently became a father for the first time and has been a key player in Rangers’ improved results.
But he was not at his swashbuckling best in Saturday’s vital win against Burnley before being substituted in the second half.
“The little boy Vargas looked a bit tired,” Redknapp admitted.
“He’s had a baby and it looks to me like he hasn’t got the spring in his step he had a few weeks ago.”
Vargas is likely to be called upon at Everton next week as top scorer Charlie Austin is suspended after being sent off against Burnley.
