Warburton praises ‘tremendous’ Willock after win at Swansea

Mark Warburton praised Chris Willock after his excellent performance in QPR’s 1-0 victory at Swansea.

Lyndon Dykes’ last-minute winner – his fifth goal in as many games and 11th of the season – took Rangers up to eighth in the Championship table.

Willock also continues to impress. He caused the Swans defence major problems and created two first-half chances for Ilias Chair.

Manager Warburton said: “Chrissy tonight was tremendous. Swansea I thought were very scared to touch him.

“He was driving into the box and I thought tonight he was very, very good.”

Willock’s work off the ball, especially in the final minutes, also pleased Warburton.

“Even at the end, he’s learning not to switch off and to tackle back,” Warburton said.

“We know he can do A, B and C really well – the dribbling one-versus-one – but it’s also the work off the ball. That’s so important.”
