Sunderland interested in QPR defender Caulker
Sunderland have made an enquiry about Steven Caulker and are expected to table an offer for the QPR defender.
Caulker, 24, has failed to make an impact at Southampton and his season-long loan could be terminated during the January transfer window.
That would pave the way for Rangers to sell Caulker or loan him to another club for the remainder of the campaign.
Crystal Palace have also been linked with him but so far Sunderland are the only club to have made an approach.
The Feltham-born Caulker, who began his career at Tottenham and has made one appearance for England, joined QPR from Cardiff City for £8m in the summer of 2014.
He left on loan following Rangers’ relegation from the top flight and has made just three Premier League appearances for Southampton since moving to St Mary’s.

Well, I don’t really know. I was staggered on Saturday, that Leroy Fer lumbers about, totally dis-interested, it seemed, v Terriers. Surely with his athleticism and ball control he would be better suited to crown green bowling?? We need a team of players with the energy and fight of Konchesky. He is on loan from Leics?? Why cant full time salaried and contracted players show the same spark!!! Come on R’s .

How oh how has this guy made a living as a professional footballer is beyond me
Another in a long line of (players) who have turned up at rangers
And the most consistent thing they’ve done is collect an over inflated wage
They don’t even have to turn up these days it’s paid into their bank accounts in advance
Tut tut tut shame on you Rangers
Sack the entire squad management set up the lot
How can jfh play the same team as Warnock Ramsey and redknapp and get away with it
I’ve had enough of it no more rangers for me until les Ferdinand and his Spurs cronies the entire football management team have gone
And start again
