Neil Warnock says QPR’s striker issue will be solved in January – with up to five new faces possibly coming in at Loftus Road.
The R’s boss made six pre-deadline signings, capturing the likes of Joey Barton, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Anton Ferdinand, and he plans to spend heavily again when the transfer window reopens.
With DJ Campbell out for up to eight weeks with a foot injury and fellow summer signing Jay Bothroyd struggling for form, Warnock says he is looking to add another goalscorer to the ranks.
“We are always looking to improve the squad. I think there will be three or four, or possibly five players new to the squad in January,” he said.
“I think it is obvious that the striking situation will be one of them so we’re always on the lookout to improve. Probably up front we could do with a little more depth.”
Warnock added: “When you come up [from the Championship] you need your strikers scoring. I think that’s a problem a lot of teams have had.”
