QPR

Speculation QPR could be taken over by American group

The Daily Star Sunday claim an American consortium want to buy or invest in QPR.

The newspaper say a group want to buy into a London club and that, with the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal and West Ham out of reach, Rangers have become the target.

This would apparently leave co-chairman Tony Fernandes facing a decision on whether to sell his shares.

The Star suggest he would be tempted to do so given that QPR are not challenging for a return to the Premier League.

  • if there is any truth in this story, it would explain why we're selling as many players as we can without bringing in any replacements unless they are loans or youngsters who don't cost anything, its a fire sale so that Mr Fernandes & co don't have to spend a penny before they bow out.
