QPR in talks with Saints over Caulker deal

QPR are in discussions with Southampton over a potential loan move for Steven Caulker.

The 23-year-old defender has attracted some interest from Premier League clubs since Rangers’ relegation.

West Brom made an enquiry about Caulker but were put off by the asking price, while Southampton have been monitoring the situation for some time.

A loan deal would enable QPR to get Caulker off their wage bill ahead of the Championship campaign and leave the door open for a possible return for him if Rangers win promotion back to the top flight.

He has three years remaining on his contract, having signed a four-year deal when he arrived from Cardiff City for £8m in 2014.
