Matt Smith has agreed personal terms with QPR and is set to complete his move to Loftus Road from Fulham.
Rangers have agreed fee for the Whites striker, having targeted him after unsuccessfully trying to sign Rotherham forward Danny Ward.
Smith, 27, has been unable to establish himself as a first-team regular since joining Fulham from Leeds United in 2014.
He has made 53 appearances for the Whites, 33 of them as a substitute, and has scored nine goals.
Smith scored 11 goals in 20 appearances during a loan spell at Bristol City the season before last.
