QPR appear to be edging towards a deal to sign Leroy Fer from Norwich.
West London Sport revealed last month that Rangers had seen bid for the Dutchman, 24, rejected but were likely to return with another offer.
Southampton have also shown an interest in Fer, but with Harry Redknapp desperate to sign at least one midfielder as soon as possible, the club have stepped up their attempts to bring him to west London.
Redknapp also wants Fer’s international team-mate Jonathan de Guzman of Villareal and is pushing for both deals to be completed despite the R’s board indicating that they are only minded to sanction one.
Meanwhile, Ajax’s Icelandic striker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson looks ready to finalise £5m move to Loftus Road after several weeks of posturing over personal terms.
