QPR boss Ian Holloway admitted his team were unable to carry out a gameplan he believed might trouble Premier League-bound Brighton.
The Seagulls returned to the top of the table with a 2-1 win at Loftus Road, where they scored twice in the space of six second-half minutes.
Holloway was keen for strikers Matt Smith and Conor Washington to create space for the likes of Luke Freeman to attack the centre of Brighton’s defence, but the visitors stood firm .
Holloway explained: “I had to look at what I had and I had to try and find a weakness.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t quite do what I wanted to. We needed to get our two forwards a bit higher and wider and we needed to stay down their channels.
“I wanted to try to hurt them through the middle, which other people haven’t tried to do. Their full-backs have been absolutely outstanding.
“But Brighton haven’t really got a weakness, to be honest. They’ve been consistent all season.”
Holloway was also unhappy with Rangers’ defending in the build up to Glenn Murray’s all-important opening goal.

Brightons only weakness was not recognising earlier that IH had put out his B team with seven changes from the game before.Not impressed with Brighton when you consider we kept them at bay for the first half, then only scored one really great goal the free kick which was stunning, that apart they struggled against a very poor QPR B team.
