Remy completes loan move to Newcastle
Newcastle have completed the signing of striker Loic Remy from QPR on a season-long loan.
West London Sport revealed on Monday morning that the two clubs had agreed a deal for the France international, who rejected a move to St James’ Park to join Rangers from Marseille for £8m in January.
Remy, 26, made that switch on the understanding it would help him attract the attention of other Premier League sides.
It made his summer departure virtually a formality once QPR’s relegation was confirmed last season and a number of clubs were subsequently made aware of his availability.
Tottenham were among those reported to be interested in him but only Newcastle made a firm offer.
The player did not feature in any of Rangers’ pre-season matches.
