Harry Redknapp says Mike Rigg’s departure from QPR was simply down to the recent managerial change at Loftus Road.
Rigg, brought in as technical director following the appointment of Mark Hughes, is no longer working for the club.
Boss Redknapp is keen to make a number of changes, with Ian Broomfield – formerly his chief scout at Tottenham – joining him at Rangers.
Redknapp said: “It happens in football. Mark [Hughes] went – and he had excellent staff in my opinion – but they’re Mark’s people.
“Mike was very much part of Mark’s team and has moved on. When I left Tottenham, Kevin Bond, Joe Jordan, Ian Broomfield and Clive Allen had to leave as the new manager came in and brought his own people.
“Mark’s gone into clubs and brought his people in – people who were at QPR before that went – so we all understand the situation.”
