Redknapp says ‘expensive’ Capoue could be beyond QPR’s reach
QPR manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed the club are struggling to agree a fee with Toulouse for midfielder Etienne Capoue.
French media have reported that Redknapp’s former club Tottenham are also interested in the 24-year-old, who has indicated that he wants to move to England.
Rangers are still in talks with Toulouse and hope a deal can be thrashed out. They have other possible options ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline – including Spurs’ Jake Livermore.
“Capoue is expensive – maybe too expensive for us,” said Redknapp.
“I liked him and watched him again last week. But the money they’re asking for is expensive for us, so it might be a problem.”
