Redknapp ready for ‘dangerous’ second leg
QPR boss Harry Redknapp was pleased with the 0-0 draw at Wigan but insisted the play-off semi-final was still very much in the balance ahead of Monday’s second leg at a solid-out Loftus Road.
Rangers will fancy their chances of reaching Wembley after a resolute display at the DW Stadium.
However, Redknapp said: “I’ll take a draw for sure, but it was two evenly balanced teams and it’s all to play for still.
“You wouldn’t like to pick a favourite. They’re a good side and they’re always going to be dangerous. They’ll come to our place and be dangerous, so it’s all to play for.”
And Redknapp denied suggestions he opted for defensive tactics against Uwe Rosler’s side, who endured a frustrating night.
“I picked an attacking team. I played with two out and out wingers, a striker, and Ravel Morrison,” Redknapp said.
“We had to defend, we all did our jobs. It certainly wasn’t a defensive-minded team, it was an attacking one.
“I didn’t bring players on to shore it up, they were players who I thought could come on and maybe do something for us.”
“Kevin Doyle can grab a goal and he works hard. Niko Kranjcar came on and he’s a fantastic footballer.”
