Boss Redknapp plays down knee problem
Harry Redknapp has insisted that an ongoing knee problem will not prevent him doing his job.
The QPR manager missed part of his team’s pre-season preparations following surgery, was subsequently on crutches for part of the campaign and is due to have a knee replacement operation this summer.
But Redknapp has denied suggestions that his condition could put his future at Loftus Road in doubt.
And he is quick to point out that Leicester boss Nigel Pearson, whose team are on course to win the Championship title at a canter, had his second knee replacement earlier this year.
Redknapp said: “My knee’s okay. I’m not down with my knee. I can’t run at the moment and I’ve got to have a knee replacement but I’ll do that in the summer.
“It doesn’t stop me doing anything and once I get my knee replacement I’ll be back playing golf and walking my dogs and I’ll be fine.
“Lots of people have even had two knee replacements. Nigel Pearson I think has just had his second one and it hasn’t affected him this year, has it? Look at how well he’s done.”
The 67-year-old added: “I still enjoy the job. If I didn’t enjoy it I wouldn’t do it. I do it because I love it.”
