Redknapp: Leicester can still be caught

QPR boss Harry Redknapp insists leaders Leicester City can still be caught at the top of the Championship.

The Foxes’ long unbeaten run means third-placed Rangers will face Derby 11 points adrift of Nigel Pearson’s side, having played two games fewer.

But Redknapp said: “You just never know. They’ve got a great advantage that’s for sure – you’d love to be sitting in their position – but you can never be sure.

“It could change so quickly. Three or four games without winning and it can change.

“We were sitting above them and then, without us having a horrendous run, they’ve suddenly pulled away.

“But I remember being at West Ham and Jim Smith was at Portsmouth, who I think won nine games on the spin and went from miles behind us to above us into second place with three games to go.

“We ended up scraping above them but they came from something like 10 points behind us.

“Look at the other year and the Man United and Man City situation. United were about eight points clear. It can change.”

Redknapp will be without the injured Charlie Austin, Danny Simpson and Matt Phillips against Steve McClaren’s Derby, who will move within one point of Rangers if they win.
