Harry Redknapp believes Croatia reaching the World Cup will help Niko Kranjcar produce his best form for QPR.
The playmaker, on loan from Dynamo Kiev, has shown moments of class since arriving at Rangers but has still yet to fire on all cylinders.
But Redknapp is convinced the prospect of representing his country in Brazil next summer will give Kranjcar an extra incentive to perform on a consistent basis.
“It’s great for Benoit Assou-Ekotto that Cameroon have qualified and great for the Croatian boys too,” said the R’s boss.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to work with a few Croatian players over the years and they’re great lads – I’ve found them to be amazing people.
“I’ve not had one bad player in amongst them. Every one I’ve had has been an absolutely fantastic footballer and great guy.
“Niko knows he’s got to work hard to get in to that squad because they’ve got so many good players, but he wants to do well and I know is enjoying his time here.
“He’s a special footballer and I still think we’ve yet to see the best of him and there’s more to come.”
