QPR manager Harry Redknapp insists he is not surprised Stephane Mbia has made a major impact while on loan at Sevilla.
The Cameroon international failed to impress last season after moving to Rangers from Marseille.
But he looks likely to play in a European final for Sevilla, having scored with a back-heel in their 2-0 Europa League semi-final first-leg victory against Valencia.
And Redknapp said: “I watched the game. You’d like to have had him here.
“What a force he’d be in the Championship. If he’d been here he would have been a good player.
“But you couldn’t keep him because of his wages. We had to get him out on loan. He had to go – nothing you could do.”
