Jamie Mackie’s goal gave QPR victory at Reading. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the team’s third consecutive win.
Well protected by his defence and dealt with balls into the area very well, the highlight being a fine punch clear in the second half.
A Championship debut to remember for Furlong, who linked up superbly with Pawel Wszolek on the right flank. On this form the youngster, recently recalled from his loan spell at Swindon, is heading for a run in the Rangers side.
Unconvincing at times and was guilty of a couple of sloppy clearances, but he upped his game in the final quarter of the match as the pressure increased, and he produced a vital clearance late on. He dug in when it mattered most.
Impressive in both boxes. He was solid defensively and a threat from set pieces. Looked sharp despite playing with an injury.
Did well on the left, covering plenty of ground and delivering the odd dangerous cross.
Did a quiet but important job, enabling Rangers’ attacking players to shine. Shows good awareness when knowing when to step into midfield and when to drop deeper.
Excellent in the centre of midfield, where he won numerous challenges and used the ball well. A fine performance.
Terrific in the first half and was involved in the goal, nudging the ball towards Mackie. He tired in the second half but has quality and boundless commitment, typified by one crunching, perfectly-timed tackle.
Absolutely brilliant stuff from the Pole, who goes from strength to strength. He ran riot on the right flank, creating numerous openings. Not only that, he also got through plenty of defensive work.
Things didn’t go his way at times, but Sylla’s movement and work off the ball was pivotal. He was hugely disappointed to be taken off in the second half, and understandably so.
A vintage Mackie display, underlining how important having him back to his buzzing best is for QPR. Scored the winner and his overall display was full of endeavour – and his link-up play with Sylla and particularly Wszolek gave Reading all sorts of problem.
Lively after being introduced in the second half for his debut. Had a shot on goal within a minute of coming on.

This group looked like they knew each other & all wanted to win as a team.
I understand our position & that frustrating readings passing game was a priority but I still feel when we have the ball there is a lack of belief in the final third we need to score more often if we are to continue in this upsurge in form
Great display of honest teamwork from the Rs,still worried from where our goals will come, had plenty of opportunities to score a second goal but no-one to take the chances created.
