QPR boss Harry Redknapp praised his players for not crumbling under pressure following the vital 3-2 win at home to Leicester.
Bottom of the table and a goal down to their fellow strugglers, Rangers fought back and then regained the lead after the Foxes had levelled in the second half.
Charlie Austin’s winner took them off the foot of the Premier League and Redknapp is convinced they will eventually climb out of the bottom three.
“There was a lot of pressure on the game today,” Redknapp said.
“When you’re bottom you know that even a draw and you’re still adrift, but to get the three points has put us right back again and I think we can get out of it.
“It was an open, attacking game – an excellent game with both teams going for it.
“We went one down in the first five minutes and they’re a dangerous side on the counter-attack.
“But I felt that first half was as good as we’ve played. We were excellent and we created chances.
“We could have felt sorry for ourselves after going behind but we came back strongly and I think we’ll be okay this season.”
Rangers often looked vulnerable on the counter-attack, but Redknapp, who decided against recalling Rio Ferdinand, was pleased with the performances of centre-backs Steven Caulker and Nedum Onuoha.
Niko Kranjcar, who started the game because Bobby Zamora was ruled out with a back problem, also caught the eye.
Redknapp said: “The two centre-halves fought for their lives. They were excellent. Niko was good today as well – he showed great ability at times.”
