Rangers assess injured full-backs

QPR are assessing the condition of left-backs Clint Hill and Armand Traore and hope at least one of them will be able to play against Sunderland this weekend.

Hill missed Wednesday’s victory over Liverpool because of a back strain, while Traore was forced off at the interval with a hamstring problem.

Hill and Traore will be assessed at QPR's training ground.

Traore was hurt in a last-ditch challenge late in the first half and although the injury does not look overly serious, he may be unavailable for the trip to Wearside.

Taye Taiwo, who set up Djibril Cisse’s equaliser against Liverpool, is likely to start if both Hill and Traore are ruled out.

Traore has also operated on the left of midfield for Rangers this season, particularly away from home, and manager Mark Hughes will give the Senegal international every chance to prove his fitness.

Hughes said: “Armand overstretched himself. It seems to be the lower part of the hamstring. We’ll have to have a look at him.”
