Ramsey wants ‘more fantastic performances’
Chris Ramsey says QPR are aiming to produce “three more fantastic performances” to end the season.
Wins in all their remaining games may not be enough to save Rangers, who are seven points from safety and on the brink of relegation back to the Championship.
But head coach Ramsey said: “The main thing is that the fans can see what the players are trying to do.
“We’re not going out with a whimper and we hope we can at least muster up three more fantastic performances and get those nine points and really make the last few weeks of the season interesting.
“[It’s important] Not only for our fans, to give them some hope to hang onto, and our owners who have been fantastic in the way they’ve supported the club, but also for the Premier League.
“The Premier League needs the neutral to be interested in the league and ensure that the season goes right to the end with interest from everybody.”
A 2-1 defeat against Liverpool, plus wins for relegation rivals Leicester, Sunderland and Aston Villa, means Rangers’ fate will be sealed if they lose at Manchester City next Sunday.
Steven Gerrard netted an 87th-minute winner at Anfield, where the visitors ended the match with 10 men after Nedum Onuoha was sent off late on.
Ramsey said: “I’ve said it week after week, we’ve left so many points on the table after 80 minutes this season
“At 87 minutes we’ve ended up losing a point, 88 minutes against Chelsea, 89 minutes at Hull, after 80 minutes at Aston Villa – our lapses in concentration are there for everybody to see.
“I thought we were admirable in the way we performed, especially when we went down to 10 men. And I thought we matched them tactically.
“But when you’re playing teams like Liverpool, that little bit of quality always counts right at the end.”
