Ramsey hopeful QPR can surprise Arsenal
QPR boss Chris Ramsey has told the club’s website he believes they can hold their own against Arsenal next week.
Relegation-threatened Rangers have won only one of their last 10 matches and will be underdogs when the Gunners visit Loftus Road on Wednesday night.
But their performances have improved since Ramsey was placed in charge following Harry Redknapp’s departure.
And Ramsey said: “There’s always an opportunity when you’ve got players who are prepared to wear their hearts on their sleeves and go out and try their best to perform at a very high level.
“We know Arsenal is going to be a very hard game, as are all the games in that league. We’re going to approach it as professionally as we have done all the other games and I think we should be all right.”
Rangers, currently above the relegation zone only on goal difference, are preparing for the Arsenal game by training in Dubai.
Those preparations are being affected by injuries to a number of key players, while Joey Barton must serve a three-match ban after being sent off in the recent defeat at Hull.
“At the moment we have a few injuries, so what we’re trying to do is see who fits in where,” Ramsey said.
“It will probably be close to the game when we’ll finalise what we’ll do during the game.”
