Ephraim eyeing move from QPR to Wolves
Hogan Ephraim is hoping to kick-start his career with a move to Wolves.
Ephraim, who has not started a league match for QPR for two and a half years, trained with Kenny Jackett’s side prior to the transfer window closing.
And the 25-year-old still believes he could end up at Molinuex, initially on loan.
He said: “It could happen. I went up there for a couple of days, spoke to the manager and it went well.
“It was a move I was hoping would happen before but for whatever reason it didn’t go ahead in time.
“I’m waiting to hear whether it’ll still happen and I’d be really pleased if it does.
“I’m 25 and just want to play. To go to a club like Wolves and play for a manager who trusts me appeals to me a lot.”
Wolves boss Jackett unsuccessfully tried to sign Ephraim a number of times while Millwall manager.
The former West Ham trainee instead had loan spells at Charlton and Bristol City, and ended last season in Canada on loan at Toronto FC.
A key member of the QPR squad which won promotion from the Championship in 2011, Ephraim returned to London following Rangers’ relegation from the top flight and was hopeful of being given a chance to re-establish himself.
But he has still not featured under manager Harry Redknapp and accepts his time at the club is effectively over.
“From my point of view it’s just really disappointing not to be involved,” he admitted.
“I have a lot of feelings for QPR but, let’s be honest, I’m coming towards the end of my time there.
“My contract is up at the end of the season and I want to play as much as possible. It’s been a really frustrating time for me.
“If something happens with Wolves I’d be delighted. If not then it’ll be time to explore other options.
“Either way, it’s clear I’m not part of the plan at QPR.”
