QPR youngsters to leave club’s Harlington training ground
QPR plan to move their youth teams from their Harlington training ground to a facility in Acton.
Rangers’ youngsters are set to use the Park Club on East Acton Lane for at least the rest of the season.
The change is a precursor to QPR’s expected move to a new training headquarters and the upgrading of their youth system.
They currently have a centre of excellence but a nationwide restructure means every club in the country will have soon have an academy graded from categories one to four.
Rangers’ current set-up is the equivalent of category three, but category-two status is their aim for the start of next season.
The youth team’s switch from Harlington is also intended to help the first team as it would free up more space for them at the club’s current training base.
QPR want to turn the Warren Farm Sports Centre near Osterley Park into their new training ground and an application has been submitted to Ealing Council.
