QPR to 'look at what's best' ahead of possible Lumley move

QPR manager Mark Warburton says a decision will be made on Joe Lumley’s future when the transfer window reopens next month.

The goalkeeper has been on loan at Doncaster Rovers and could end up staying with the Yorkshire club.

Rovers are keen to keep him and are set to hold talks with Rangers director of football Les Ferdinand.

Lumley’s contact expires in the summer and QPR have been open to offers for him for some time.

“We’ll look at what’s best. It’ll be discussed between Les, the player and the agent,” Warburton said.

Lumley, 25, lost his place in the Rangers side following a series of mistakes.

He was replaced by Seng Dieng, who leapfrogged both Lumley and Liam Kelly to become Warburton’s first-choice keeper.

“Joe’s a good goalkeeper, simple as that. So’s Seny, so’s Liam,” Warburton added.

“Joe’s doing well and had a very solid performance at the weekend. I’m pleased for Joe and think a lot of him.”
