Armand Traore says he is confident he will be available for QPR’s game at Birmingham on Saturday.
The former Arsenal man, who has been in good form for Rangers recently, has been receiving treatment for trapped nerve in his lower back.
He hopes to return to full training on Thursday and believes he will be fit enough for the trip to St Andrews.
Traore said: “For me, yes. If you ask me I would say yes.
“If it’s not a muscle problem then I can always take some painkillers and get through it. The doctors say we’ll have to wait and see, but I think I’ll be fine.
“I’ve been trying to un-trap the nerve in my back. I thought I just had a strain, but the pain was growing and they’ve said it’s nerve-related.
“I’ve been to the chiropractor and I have to do some more treatment.”
Rangers are also hoping that Niko Kranjcar and Gary O’Neil shake off injuries before Saturday’s match.
