Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says QPR plan to sign two strikers following Charlie Austin’s move to Southampton.
The Rangers manager wanted to sign a forward before the club’s top scorer secured £4m transfer to St Mary’s.
Now Hasselbaink is keen to quickly bring in a replacement for Austin, who had indicated that he would see out the final months of his contract at Loftus Road.
Hasselbaink said: “There is a vacancy – two vacancies, because we were already looking for a striker. I’m always optimistic and have irons in the fire.
“It has to be the right individual for the group and has to fit with our plans going forward.”
Meanwhile, QPR are discussing possible deal to sell Matt Phillips to Watford.
