QPR v Blackburn player ratings

Tjaronn Chery’s brilliant goal was not enough to earn QPR a win against Blackburn. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the 1-1 draw at Loftus Road.

Alex Smithies: 6

Was rarely threatened until the Rovers goal, but he could have perhaps done better as Sam Gallagher’s header drifted over him when he was a good few yards off his line. He did produce one stunning save from Corry Evans’ long-range volley though.

James Perch: 7

Strong in the tackle and mostly good on the ball. A tidy performance.

Nedum Onuoha: 7

The R’s captain worked hard to contain Danny Graham and generally performed well.

Grant Hall: 7

Playing against another side with only one man up front, Hall found the going pretty easy for the majority of the game. His bursts forward with the ball provided some impetus.

Jake Bidwell: 7

Solid again and kept the R’s on level terms just before half-time when he cleared off the line.

Karl Henry: 6

Provided a good screen to the back four but gave the ball away on several occasions.

Jordan Cousins: 7

Broke up play effectively and didn’t allow the Rovers midfield pair to settle. Looks so much more comfortable in the middle.

Nasser El Khayati: 6

A mixed display from the winger. On the one hand, he provided an occasional creative spark for the home side, but he squandered a good chance to score and generally looked off the pace in the second half.

Olamide Shodipo: 8

Full of running, tricks and some good work in defence; this was a fine display from the youngster. He could find his chances limited with the return of Yeni Ngbakoto, who did not play because of the death of his father, and the signing of Pawel Wszolek, who was suspended, but Shodpio has shown he is a useful option.

Tjaronn Chery: 7

Another impressive display and his goal – a brilliant left-footed free-kick – underlined his quality.

Sebastian Polter: 6

Replaced at half-time having been unable to make much of an impact.

Conor Washington: 6

Brought on at the start of the second half and provided a lively presence up front. He had a chance to score, but his shot was deflected wide and he is still waiting for his first league goal for QPR. New signing Idrissa Sylla, who came on for his debut late on, was also unable to take a chance when it came his way.
