QPR manager Mark Warburton believes Faysal Bettache would benefit from another spell out on loan.
The young midfielder, who was previously on loan at non-League Billericay Town, came on during the second half of Saturday’s 1-0 win at home to Blackburn.
He has now made eight first-team appearances for the R’s, all as a substitute.
Warburton would like Bettache, 20, to enjoy the kind of loan spell Ilias Chair had at Stevenage before going on to establish himself in the QPR side.
In the meantime, as the EFL transfer window is now closed, a loan move to a National League club would be an option between now and the end of the season.
“He’s a young boy that’s working hard for an opportunity,” Warburton said after Saturday's game.
“They’re the type of games where you learn so much. You can’t replicate that in training.
“The easy thing to do would be to move Geoff (Cameron) into midfield and move Ossie (Kakay) to the right side (of the back three) and Rob (Dickie) in the middle.
“But then you’re disrupting the back five that have defended so stoutly. You’ve got to trust the players.
“He’s worked hard, young Faysal. He probably does need to go out just to play 20-odd games and keep developing, like Ilias did at Stevenage for example - that type of loan.
“But you’ve got to trust them. He came on there and did a really good job for us.”
Bettache’s first-team opportunities this season are likely to be further limited following the recent arrival of midfielder Sam Field from West Brom.
QPR would therefore consider letting him out on loan and are a certainly looking to loan out forward Ody Alfa, who has previously been on loan at Billericay, Maidenhead United and Spanish outfit Atlético Baleares.
There could also be a loan move arranged for midfielder Stephen Duke-McKenna.
