QPR’s Jay Bothroyd will be assessed on Thursday to see if he can return for this weekend’s match against Norwich.
Bothroyd missed Saturday’s 3-2 victory at Stoke after picking up a hamstring strain last week. It was an untimely blow for the striker as he had scored two goals in as many games prior to the recent international break.
He returned to training on Tuesday and is hoping to be included in the R’s squad for the trip to East Anglia, which Heidar Helguson is a doubt for after picking up a knock at Stoke.
“The injury was a real shame for Jay as he’s been playing well and started getting goals,” Rangers assistant manager Mick Jones told West London Sport.
“We’re hoping he’ll now be able to train okay on Thursday. We’ll have a good look at him then.”
