QPR striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is set to remain with Gillingham until the end of the season, according to the League One club’s manager Ady Pennock.
Emmanuel-Thomas has scored 10 goals in 29 appearances for the Gills this term, having joined on loan in August.
And despite not finding the net since November, the Kent club appear keen to extend the deal.
Pennock – who replaced previous Gills boss Justin Edinburgh last week – said on Thursday he had spoken to his QPR counterpart Ian Holloway to seal the extension.
Emmanuel-Thomas was signed on a free transfer from Bristol City in the summer of 2015 and enjoyed a purple patch early last season, scoring four goals in seven appearances while Rangers were without the injured Charlie Austin.
However, he soon became out-of-favour at Loftus Road under Chris Ramsey and his successor Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, and ended last season on loan at MK Dons.
