Injured Dykes withdraws from Scotland squad
Lyndon Dykes has withdrawn from the Scotland squad with a thigh injury.
The striker, who missed much of QPR’s season, was substituted at half-time during this week’s World Cup qualification play-off against Ukraine at Hampden Park, where the Scots were beaten 3-1.
Steve Clarke’s side will play Nations League matches against Armenia on Wednesday and the Republic of Ireland on Saturday, but Dykes will not be involved.
Boss Clarke said on Saturday evening that he would not be calling up a replacement.

Too injury prone for us. Replacements urgently required up front

dykes has had long enough,I believe he has shown more aggression in a scotland shirt than in an Rs shirt, time to look elsewhere, we need young, hungry players with potential, mind you that’s what we thought dykes was!.

Funnily enough, I was thinking along identical lines as Ernest, but who would be better? some 30+ over the hill ‘has been’ or another inexperienced youngster, so I thought its probably better to stick with who we have and add quality from somewhere if we can.

Dykes was not that expensive and probably that’s all you gonna get from him 7-10 goals a season
Not a regular goal scoring threat at this level
Lacks the ball skills to be a hold up guy and lacks the skills to be a knockdown guy for a smaller forward to pick up and score
He has to come to terms on how he wishes to play to save his career otherwise it will be more time on the sidelines and more tattoos

Every time that Lyndon Dykes ends up with the Scotland squad, he gets injured. What on Earth is Steve Clarke doing to him?
