Grant Hall has told QPR’s website he probably needs to play in a couple more Under-23 matches before he is ready for a first-team return.
Hall, who has been troubled by a persistent knee problem, played the first half of a game against Coventry’s second string on Monday afternoon – his first outing of the season.
“It’s been a frustrating time for me,” he admitted. “It’s been nearly three months now since I’ve been out so it was great to get minutes in the locker against Coventry.
“I’m on a tailored training programme and it is just about getting match fitness now for me and when I’m 100% ready I will know.
“I think I’ll probably need a couple of Under-23 games before I can be considered. I’ve only just played 45 minutes, so this is just the start for me.”
Monday’s win left QPR’s Under-23 side top of the table with seven wins from their opening eight matches of the season.
“I think the boys did well. You can do as much training as you like but it isn’t the same as playing a match,” Hall added.
