Sean Goss is close to agreeing personal terms ahead of his proposed move to QPR from Manchester United.
Goss has been in discussions with the club after United accepted an offer.
He is expected to undergo a medical in the next 24 hours but the signing currently looks unlikely to be rubber-stamped in time for him to be available for Saturday’s game against Burton.
The Germany-born 21-year-old, who can also play at left-back, joined United from Exeter City in 2012.
He is yet to make his senior debut but has been an unused substitute for United and was last month invited to train with the first-team squad by boss Jose Mourinho.
Goss spent much of last year sidelined by a back problem.
