Mowbray rules out move for QPR’s Manning
Tony Mowbray has denied reports that Blackburn Rovers are set to sign Ryan Manning from QPR.
It comes after the Lancashire Telegraph suggested Manning could move to Ewood Park.
That led to rumours a deal had been done.
But Blackburn manager Mowbray insisted there is no prospect of that happening when asked about the Irishman after Rovers’ win 5-0 against Wycombe on Saturday.
“That’s a name you’ve just thrown at me. It’s not true,” Lancs Live quoted Mowbray as saying.
“I think Ryan Manning is a very good footballer but I imagine QPR are not just going to let him walk away.
“We haven’t got any money to buy anybody. How much is Ryan Manning going to cost?
“If you’re going to buy a player, you have to buy a player then give him a salary.”
There is uncertainty over Manning’s future as his QPR contract expires next year and he has refused offers of a new deal.
He has been linked with a host of clubs but no approaches have been made for him.

Who wants our players anyway? apart from the odd exception, the ones that went to premiership clubs are all back in the championship again. Not quite as good as they thought they were and Ryan +BOS are two more. Look at Toni Leistner – nobody wants him. Just sign a new contract, stay where you are and get on with playing (its far better than warming the bench elsewhere).
