QPR respond to criticism over view
QPR have responded to criticism from an opposition fan unhappy with an obscured view from his Loftus Road seat.
Southampton supporter Sam White paid £38 for a restricted view ticket for the game against Rangers on Saturday.
He tweeted a picture of his view, which showed a television studio blocking most of the pitch, with the hashtag ‘#robbery’.
A QPR spokesperson said: “Loftus Road is an all-seater stadium and, while we understand the supporter’s frustration, we as a club advise fans to sit down for a number of reasons.
“Safety is of paramount importance and the main purpose for asking everyone to sit down, but it is also to ensure the best possible view of the pitch from all seats.
“Owing to the structure of Loftus Road, if everyone in the stadium stood up there would be a number of viewing positions where it would not be possible to see both goals. Loftus Road isn’t unique in this.
“Once again, we are sorry to hear of the supporter’s disappointment following his visit to Loftus Road and in light of his observations, we will be contacting all opposing clubs in advance of their fixture at our stadium to reiterate to them the importance of their supporters remaining seated to ensure the best possible viewing experience for their fellow fans.”

This is an ageing stadium with limited capacity. If you want a “premier league experience” then go to the Emirates or a similar ground with no atmosphere or character.

When tickets for Q.P.R.games are sold online there is a stadium map,with seat info.telling people of restricted views and you can click on an icon to see exactly the view from that particular seat.so why the purchaser didn’t check this or the away club is beyond me.cos if i bought a restricted view ticket i would want to know how resticted it wad before i purchased it.and surely he must of known £38 for prem game was extremely cheap.

This is absolute rubbish. There are a number of seats, including in the second row where if you DIDN’T stand up you would not be able t see the goal.
To charge £38 or £45 for tickets where you literally cannot see the action is a disgrace.
The issue is not whether someone sits or stands, it is that too many tickets have dreadful views, and supporters cannot know exactly how restricted their seat is until they arrive at the match.
Hardly a Premier League experience.

Perhaps he had to stand up in order to see. When he did he got that view. Perhaps QPR should take a photo of a view from that seat so that no one is unaware of what a restricted view seat is really like.
