QPR rejected pre-deadline approach for Mackie

MK Dons made a pre-deadline enquiry about Jamie Mackie before signing Jay Emmanuel-Thomas on loan from QPR.

The Championship strugglers asked Rangers about a potential loan deal for Mackie, who recently recovered from a hamstring tear and has not started a league match since the opening day of the season.

QPR were not prepared to part with the 30-year-old but were willing to loan out Emmanuel-Thomas, who was very much out of favour at Loftus Road.

Rangers also agreed a loan deal for Leroy Fer with Swansea, who considered signing Sandro before the R’s midfielder’s recent loan move to West Brom.

But a potential move to Crystal Palace for Rob Green did not materialise because the Eagles were unable to offload former QPR keeper Alex McCarthy to Fulham.
