QPR are ready to open contract talks with Rob Green, according to manager Harry Redknapp.
Green’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season and Redknapp expects chief executive Philip Beard to begin discussions with the 34-year-old goalkeeper shortly.
“He’s a top keeper and a player the club want to keep. I think Phil wants to talk to him about his contract,” said Redknapp.
Green, signed on a Bosman free transfer in 2012 after rejecting a new contract at West Ham, has indicated that he would like to stay at Loftus Road.
A number of other Rangers players will be out of contract this summer, including captain Clint Hill.
The club plan to offer Hill, 35, one-year deal, possibly with a view to a potential coaching role when his playing career finishes.
