More action for Diakite as out-of-favour QPR man features in Under-21 game at Reading
Samba Diakite featured for the QPR’s Under-21 side on Tuesday evening as he looks to build up his fitness.
With Alejandro Faurlin having been been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering cruciate knee ligament damage, Rangers are keen for the out-of-favour midfielder to stay fit in case he is needed.
Diakite, 24, has made only one first-team appearance this season and has not featured in a league game for the R’s since April.
Keeper Brian Murphy and Angelo Balanta also played for Marc Bircham’s side, who lost 3-1 at Reading in the Premier League Cup.
Goals from Dominic Samuel, Jake Taylor and Craig Tanner put the Royals three ahead before Mo Shariff grabbed a late consolation for Rangers.
