QPR plan late attempt to sign Spurs man
QPR are expected to make a final attempt to push through the signing of Tottenham centre-back Michael Dawson before the transfer window closes later today.
Rangers were hopeful of persuading the 28-year-old to join them ahead of tonight’s deadline even though he has appeared reluctant to make the move.
But their bid to capture him was dealt a blow on Thursday when the north London club, who had accepted an offer for Dawson, indicated that they are now less inclined to let him go.
It follows news that Spurs defender Younes Kaboul will be sidelined for up to four months with a knee injury.
Kaboul’s absence means Dawson, who was not in manager Andre Villas-Boas’ first-team plans, may now have a role to play.
