Harry Redknapp has dismissed speculation linking him with a move for former Arsenal midfielder Alex Song but remains hopeful of bringing Niko Kranjcar back to QPR.
Redknapp was reportedly looking to sign Song, 26, on loan from Barcelona, but the Rangers boss insisted: “There’s nothing in that.”
Kranjcar, meanwhile, is desperate to leave Dynamo Kiev and return to Loftus Road.
The Croatian spent last season on loan at Rangers but was hampered by hamstring trouble and missed the World Cup after aggravating the problem during May’s play-off final against Derby.
Talks have been ongoing for several weeks and Redknapp remains hopeful that Kranjcar will rejoin the squad before this month’s transfer deadline.
He said: “We’re talking to Niko and it’s still a possibility. He’s a good lad and a class act on the field and off the field.”
